Abstract Legal linguistics plays a crucial role in shaping social interactions, power dynamics, and access to justice. The social use of legal linguistics examines how language influences legal outcomes, perpetuates inequality, and affects marginalized communities. It explores how legal language is used to. Legal language can limit access to justice, particularly for non-native speakers, minorities, or low-income individuals. Legal language can be used to challenge unjust systems, promote social change, and advocate for human rights. Legal language problems arise when the complexity, ambiguity, and inaccessibility of legal language hinder communication, perpetuate inequality, and compromise justice. These problems include, Unclear or conflicting meanings of legal terms and concepts, Difficult-to-follow sentence structures and convoluted language, Overuse of specialized terminology, alienating non-experts, Language and cultural differences limiting access to justice, Voluminous and complex legal documents, overwhelming individuals, Legal language used to assert dominance or intimidate. These problems can lead to, Misunderstandings and misinterpretations, Inaccessibility to justice, Inequality and discrimination, Incefficient legal processes, eroding trust in the legal system. Addressing legal language problems requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving legal professionals, linguists, and policymakers, to, Simplify legal language, Promote plain language drafting, Enhance linguistic accessibility, Develop culturally sensitive legal communication, Foster critical legal literacy.
