Abstract
Money plays important role in all kind of financial transactions as the business establish and grow on its basis. There have been different kinds of money in the history. The most popular and common was barter system, commodity and metallic money. In contemporary it has been converted to paper currency which is further expected to convert into plastic currency. The best example of this kind of currency can be seen in the form of credit and debit cards. In addition to this traditional form of currency, credit money is also introduced. Cheques, Promissory notes, bills of exchanges, are its popular forms. The academic work was designed to analyze the credit money in the light of Quran and Sunnah ruling and its role in context of economy of Pakistan. Qualitative and analytical approaches are applied for the collection and analysis of data. The review of literature concluded that, credit money needs to be Islamized in order to get benefit within the limits of religion. The research recommends the discourse of credit money should forward to the diligence institutions to Islamize the contemporary forms and design the new products with respect to injunction of Islam. This activity will at one hand to facilitate the people in their financial transactions while on the other hand will highlight the practical application of Islamic economic principles. The second chapter discussed the discourse of credit money in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Third chapter highlighted the institutions working on credit money. Fourth chapter dealt with role of credit money in the economy of Pakistan. Also this study recommends towards the specialization in the role of credit money in the trade and business of Pakistan.
