Abstract Banu Qudsia is a prominent Urdu Novelist and short story writer. She has written several books of short stories. Some of them are “Aatiash Zare Pa”, “Saman-e-Wajood”. I have written analyzed only four of them Banu Qudsia is famous for the psychological analysis of her characters. She also presents the cultural environment of our society. This thesis is based on the psychological and social analysis of her characters present in the short stories. In first chapter I discussed the introduction and types of cartelization, the subjective analysis is also the part of this chapter. Female characterization is the main topic of Second Chapter. This chapter is divided in two parts. 1st part is about the critical analysis of main female characters. Second part is about the critical analyzation of secondary female characters of Banu Qudsia short stories. Male characterization is the main topic of third chapter, this chapter is also divided in two main parts, like the 2nd chapter mentioned above. In 4th chapter I analyzed the characters of Banu Qudisa’s short stories on both psychological and social levels.
