Abstract
Understanding of the Concept of the Afterlife among Pakistani Youth and Its Impact on Character Building Abstract This study examines the understanding of the concept of the afterlife among Pakistani youth and analyzes its impact on character development. The primary objective of this research is to explore the extent to which belief in the afterlife influences the moral behavior, social responsibility and psychological orientation of young individuals. To achieve this goal, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were employed. A structured questionnaire comprising twelve questions was developed to effectively assess participants’ views. These questions focused on themes such as self-accountability, moral decision-making, social harmony and altruism. The analysis revealed a significant correlation between a deep understanding of the afterlife and the exhibition of positive moral behaviors. Youth who possess strong belief in the hereafter tend to demonstrate greater honesty, sense of justice, responsibility, and compassion. The findings suggest that promoting awareness of the afterlife within educational and social systems can play a vital role in character building and moral stability. This thesis offers a foundation for further scholarly inquiry into the relationship between religious beliefs and practical behavior among youth. Moreover, the study not only draws upon Qur’anic teachings and Islamic moral principles but also takes into account the specific socio-cultural context of Pakistan, where youth often face intellectual, social, and emotional pressures. In such a setting, the concept of the afterlife provides a spiritual and ideological anchor that encourages self-evaluation, social justice and goodwill. This dimension lends both intellectual depth and practical relevance to the research.
