Abstract It is a matter of fact that whenever the holy things of religion are insulted, the followers of that religion are hurt, and feelings of hatred and anger flare up against the perpetrator of the insult. In modern times, some miscreants tried to disturb the world's peace by insulting the holy places. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures that guarantee coexistence, peace, and security. Of course, one of these measures is respecting and honoring the religious sanctuaries and highlighting their religious sensibility. Along with giving, it is necessary to make people aware of the prohibition of desecration of the holy things of other religions. In this context, this study is an effort to study the commonalities and differences on the issue of the sacredness and respect of the religious rituals and symbols of the world’s major religions in terms of population. Furthermore, a comparative study of the holy things of religions will be presented. This study will adopt the analytical research methodology with a qualitative research approach. This study perceives that most issues regarding disrespect of religion are due to ignorance and misconceptions. Therefore, it is a need for hours to take steps to disseminate about the sanctity of religious rituals. It may be fruitful for peaceful coexistence of different religions. The worst situation of peace and order that the world is facing nowadays is not hidden from anyone and the tension in inter-religious differences is increasing day by day. In view of this situation, there is an urgent need of the hour to take such measures that will promote inter-religious unity and agreement and lead to peaceful co-existence and restoration of peace and security. It is also to enlighten the great, therefore, in the present paper, an effort will be made to highlight the need for and importance of peaceful inter-faith relations and respect for sacred things.
