Abstract Standardization of the formatting of Research Thesis Writing: A critical study of sources available in Urdu on the components of a research thesis In the realm of Urdu research, there exists considerable scholarly debate regarding the components, presentation, and organization of research papers. These discussions reveal significant differences and commonalities, particularly in the number, order, and nomenclature of these components. Such inconsistencies create challenges for novice researchers, especially when navigating the varying requirements of research papers across different universities and even across disciplines within the same institution. This study critically examines the available Urdu research sources on the components of a research paper, aiming to develop a standardized, scientifically grounded format that aligns with contemporary research principles. By focusing on the practices employed at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Islamabad, this research seeks to establish a framework that meets the demands of modern scholarship while ensuring the presentation of high-quality research papers across different periods and disciplines of Urdu research.
