Abstract The Urdu novel is almost hundred and fifty years old. In this time period the genre of novel has established itself as a significant component of Urdu Literature. It has passed through various stages of development. Initially it consisted of didactic tales but in the later years it captured various topics be the political, religious, social, cultural or moral. Besides it also incorporated latest techniques. By twenty first century the form of novel passed through different stages and each stage contributed to its evolution in technique forms of communication and themes. The twenty first century began with a new landscape and rapid changes occurred all over the world. Nine eleven, religious extremism, freedom of press, rebellion against social and moral values, technological advancement, frustration of youth and such factors exposed the bitterness and reality of life. These factors affected not only the themes but also forms of literature. Digression from the conventional patterns of thinking also influenced the forms of expression. A simple tale or strong is replaced by set of disorganized pictorial representation. Similarly the agony of life and lack of sense of sense of direction is expressed in unconventional ways. This research explores various aspects of these focus. Form is considered as the soul of contemporary literature and it is a natural way of expression. The contemporary Urdu novelists adopted a new form of expression to present the contemporary life. Old forms of expression were unable to depict the new ideas and new problems. Consequently new experiments were made to identify the most appropriate form of novel. Thus contemporary Urdu novel has established a new form which is at once varied as well as individual. The relationships between language and forum are frequently studied by experts. Literary criticism employs various terms to identify different types of forms of novel. Such as simple and informal, appropriate sweet-sounding, pleasant, beautiful and decorated forms. Tariq Saeed in his book “Asloob or Asloobiat” has enlisted different types of forms and this research employs three of these forms which one given below 1- Narrative forum (with reference to language) 2 - Dramatic and metaphoric form. 3- Metaphysical and tale form. These three forms are identified )Each of these three forms mentioned above is analyzed in three novels written in twenty first century.) This dissertation is divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses the basic form of novel. The last chapter sums up the analysis and presents results of the recommendations.
