Abstract
Dr. Israr Ahmed was renowned Islamic scholar who primarily advocated for the promotion Islamic rule of law. He made significant contribution to the ongoing debate on the political strategy required to establish rule of Islam in Pakistan. Dr. Israr utilized Islamic concept of Khilafat as a model for Islamic governance. He described the mission of Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمand then delved into the methodology, which includes six theoretical phases. The first phase involves Revolutionary Ideology and it’s preaching, followed by Organization in the second phase, and third phase focuses on the Training ) (تربیتof discipline. The fourth phase Passive resistance means to hold and wait, fifth phase represents of revolution is Active resistance when the required figure of individuals come into the being. The active resistance inevitably leads to an Armed Conflict, which serves as the final phase of the revolution. Among these phases, the first four occur simultaneously, while the last two practically encompass the second phase. According to Dr. Israr, in the context of evolving political systems, the reformist process in a Muslim state in the final phase should involve the launch of a non-violent, non-cooperative mass movement guided by individuals from the reformist party who meet specific criteria. Additionally, Dr. Israr Ahmed draws parallels between the strategy of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمand modern-day revolutionary movements, suggesting that the principles and methods employed by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلمcan be applicable to contemporary social and political struggles. He also emphasizes the need for Muslims to break down barriers and divisions among different sects, ethnicities, and nationalities, and to work together towards a common goal. Overall, Doctor Israr Ahmed envisions a peaceful Islamic revolution rooted in the teachings of Islam, focusing on establishing an Islamic political, social, and economic system that ensures social justice in contemporary time. Protest as a mean of driving system change requires collective action and collaboration among diverse organizations.
