Abstract I have divided my research into four chapters entitled “Post Colonialism and Pakistani Society- An analytical study of ambivalent language in Urdu composition. In the first chapter, after the introduction of the subject, the introduction of post colonialism and its effects on language are presented. Basics of Language have been presented. In addition to discussing ambivalence, ambivalent behaviors in communication have been presented. Difference between ambivalent and multilingualism have been presented In the second chapter, the social context of ambivalent language is introduced. The information about colonialist and colonized is mentioned. In this chapter, the relation of colonialist and colonized is discussed with reference to the colonialism. Usage of English words is mentioned with reference to daily dialogues and communications at school and home. Effects of social media on new generation and its influence on language are discussed. In the last part of the chapter, it is stated that European culture has the powerful influence on our new generation, in a result, Pakistani culture and identity going towards end. Ambivalent language uses in schools frequently is also highlighted. Chapter three introduces psychological context of ambivalent language. In this chapter role of language in personality development is presented. Effects of ambivalent language on personality have been examined in detail in this chapter. The way of thinking and acting is mentioned in the last part of the chapter. Chapter four compares “Ambivalent language and Urdu composition”. It examines the Urdu composition is the way of presentation of thoughts. Basics of Urdu composition are also discussed. The relation between ambivalent language and Urdu composition showed.
