Abstract In this research paper under review,the researcher has analyzed the presentation of Karachi’s problems in the context of Asif Farrukhi’s fictions.Karachi is a metropolitan city but over the last few decades it has faced many individual and collective problems.Since Asif Farrukhi belongs to Karachi, in his fictions,he has given utmost importance to the individual and collective issues of Karachi.That’s why the researcher made a social presentation of the issues in the context of Asif Farrukhi’s fiction’s in this research paper.First of all ,the individual problems of Karachi in which the psychological problems of the individual have been analysed.That due to the problems of Karachi,the psyche of the individual is in a constant state of fear,terror,hoplessness and uncertainty.While in terms of social issues,the individual suffers from selfishness,loss of identity and double standards in the face of Karachi’s problems.Similarly, in the context of Asif Farrukhi’s fictions a person living in Karachi is suffering from economic unemployment,insecure and unstable economic problems.For the last forty years,Karachi has been facing some serious collective problems.The researcher has analysed the political , administrative , environmental and law and order issues in Karachi.The main reason for Karachi’s political and administrative problems is the negligence of the administration and the personal interests of political figures.While the main cause of environmental problems is the breakdown of sewerage system, increasing constructions in the city and marine pollution day by day.Similarly,the law and order situation in Karachi due to the change in the political landscape of the country after the eightiee’s has been analyzed.This research analysis has been done with the help of documentary books,magzines and journals,columns,and Sayed Mazhar Jameel’s book “Ashoob-e-sindh and urdu fiction”. The discussion has been concluded with the possible solutions to the problems, recommendations have been made to solve the problem as well as for further study.
