Abstract Faiz Ahmed Faiz is one of the most celebrated Urdu poets of 20th century all around the world so there has always been a lot to write and speak about such a prominent figure but all it was in fragments; focusing mainly on Faiz’s work till a few biographical books got compiled in some purposeful way. This research compares three of the biographies of Faiz Ahmed Faiz: “Ham K Thehry Ajnabi” by Ayub Mirza; “Parvarish-e-Lauh-O-Qalam” by Dr. Ludmila Vasilieva and “Zikr-e-Faiz” by Syed Mazhar Jamil. Dr Ludmila Vasilieva compiled the said biography in Russian and then co-translated it in Urdu. Dr. Ayub Mirza published his book during the life of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and it was discussed with Faiz himself. Syed Mazhar Jamil considered the need of a comprehensive biography of Faiz and he compiled a voluminous book on the life of Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Writing of a biography demands authentication, truthfulness, unbiasedness as well as the style of presentation of the biographical content matters. Keeping in view the said standards of writing a biography; these three biographies are evaluated with the aim of comparing the content and its presentation to find the differences and similarities among these biographical books.
