Abstract Mukhtar Masood is a well-known prose writer of Urdu language and literature. He has authored four books. This study has been conducted on those books. This thesis has been divided into four chapters. The Proposed research article Histricism, its perspectives and applications” covers social and cultural domains of Urdu prose of Mukhtar Masood. His writings reflect the prevailing and ever changing political dilemma and variation in the mirror of history. He as a historian not only abridged the events but as a writer.He also described them in his won analytical and historical terms. Histricism is primarily an intellectual thought that summarises the allied text of cultural awareness, political, social, and historical cognizance, modern cognition and social behavior. Modren historical transformation leads to the development and expension of human consciousness. A writer like Mukhtar Masood pays close attention to its surrounding and ultimately puts them into words. In the proposed research paper, the writings of Mukhtar Masood have beem studied, surveyed and critically analyzed.
