Abstract
(Children’s Literature in Pakistan and Egypt: A Comparative Study (1950-2015) Children are the most important asset of any society. They are nation builders and a nation’s hopes. Literature written for them has an everlasting effect on their personality and behavior. That is why great care is taken in this context. Such kinds of literature should be comprehensive for these kids and have a message for them to follow. The objective of this study is to first trace the salient features of this kind of literature through its different genres. The objective is also to compare and contrast children’s literature of Pakistan and Egypt – countries close to each other in terms of faith and belief. This has been done through selected books of Urdu and Arabic chosen in terms of their popularity among children. These books consist of all genres of literature i.e novel, poetry, prose, drama, etc. The scholar has found some great similarities and differences between the children's literature of these two countries. A comprehensive outcome with some valuable suggestions has been added at the end of the dissertation.
