Abstract
Islam is complete code of life for entire humankind. According to the Holy the Quran all humanbeings have been created from a single person (Adam). By birth all are equal and as human beings all are equally respected and have all fundamental rights irrespective their religion. If a group is numerically inferior to the rest of the population of state in a non-dominant position, will not be considered minority according to Quran. Quran classify people into two different categories: believers and non-believers on the base of their belief instead of numerical value. Minorities enjoy all fundamental rights and freedoms in Islamic territory.This research demonstrates in the light of Quran and Sunnah that Islam does not discriminate between Muslims and nonMuslims in the matter of rights. In the present age the people other than the muslims especially the western consider Islam and the Muslims threat for the piece of the world. The world has practically become a global village due to advancement in modern technology. This is need of the time that people belong to different religions and ethnic backgrounds have to live together so the westerns think Islam is against pluralistic society as it does not accept and bear others. This research might prove that Islam is in favor of pluralistic society and islam provide all fundamental rights to all human beings without discrimination of religion and belief, so this thesis has been divided into six chapters. The first chapter deals with the literal and technical meaning of minority and its kinds, the concept of minority in the light of Quran and Sunnah, their rights during the reign of KhilafiteRashida. The second chapter about Islamic philosophy of rights, religious and political rights of Minorities, meanings of right and different kinds of rights (haquq). The third chapter gives the details of individual economic rights of minorities in the light of Quran and Hadith, responsibilities of non-muslims in Islamic state and their objections about Khiraaj and Jizya. The fourth chapter is critical analysis of human rights in the Islamic and western Law and comparative study of their charters has also been conducted. The fifth chapter is devoted for the existing position of the rights of Muslim minority in west (France, Germany and UK). The sixth chapter focuses on the universality of Islam and Islamophobia, Western negative propaganda against Islam, limitations of relationship with non-Muslims according Islam. In the conclusion, benefits of this research, proposals and recommendations have been highlited.xiii This research deals with the question, is Islam is in favour of Pluralistic society.It also explores the realistic analysis about the rights of Non-Muslims in Islamic state and the miser situation of Muslims in western countries in modern era. This Research enlighten the major problems of Muslims living in western countries and recommenditions about the solution. This study might helpful in legislation for the minorities in the wetern countries and also in the Muslim countries.
