Abstract Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi is a well-known and praiseworthy columnist, sketch writer and travelogue writer. This research paper deals with social satire in the travelogues of Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi. Social satire is sunch an instrument in literature as points out a flaw, it ermarks some hidden ehaviour but the purpose of such satire is not abhor or degrade any one, rather an effort is made to reform the society with its help so that some help should be provided to remove the flaws found in social and cultural values. This research takes into focus four travelogues of Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi, 1. “Shoq-e-Awargee” 2. “Duniya Khoobsoorat Hai” 3. “Goron Key Daise Main” and “Dilli Door Ast”. In the travelogue of Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi we find countless examples of satire on political, social, economic and moral aspects and levels. He can be observed using all the techniques of satire in his travelogues. While doing this research, documented historical method has been adopted and for this purpose, help has been sought from other literary books, magazines and journals and different libraries. The importance of this thesis enhance by virtue of the quality that we find social and cultural reflection of two civilization in it, moreover in he ravelogues of Atal-ul-Haq Qasmi, we find reflection of common traditions, language, externally visible social behaviours, habits and ways of day to day life of two civilizations. By doing so, different shades of social sative have been utilized by them. In these travelogues the attractive colores ofIX his travel are found alongwith the elements of stive and human evidently. His travelogues are not only different and peculiar from the prespective of his style of writing, but from the perspective of thought, novelty and newness. Atal-ul-Haq Qasmi has played an import role in presenting a clear picture of the present popular society through his travelogues. The object of my thesis is to bring to the fore the aspects and shades of social satire of his travelogue writing.
