Abstract Ahmed Faraz is one of the prominent poets of Urdu who are known for their resistance poetry. He expressed his views with bold stance. He has various dimensions of resistance such as political, social and religious. He raised his voice in favor of oppressed class of society and against the exploiting forces. This thesis is an analytical study of Ahmed Faraz’s poetry in the above context. Thesis comprises of four chapters: In the first chapter introduction of theme and key terms of the study, its scope, objectives, background and research questions are presented. Second part of this chapter presents a brief introduction of Ahmed Faraz and his works. Various dimensions of resistance and a short review of resistance in world literatures is given in the later parts. Second chapter is about the political dimension of resistance in Ahmed Faraz’s poetry. Global and local political situation and conflicts and the stance of the poet is discussed with examples. In third chapter social dimension of resistance is discussed whereas in fourth chapter religious dimension of resistance is analyzed. Fifth chapter includes overall review and findings of the study and recommendation of the researcher.
